As I prepare to enter into my final year of grad school, as a candidate for an MFA in Industrial Design at Parsons, the New School, here's a brief synopsis of what I plan to spend my time over the next year focusing on

*Thesis Statement... An exploration into reuprposing end-0f-life textiles into furniture + home goods.

* In doing so, looking at/ exploring craft based production methods (hand-crafting) combined with Industrial Design or machine type production to produce marketable + viable mass produced goods.

*Looking at the how the spontaneity that is typical of craft, combined with the more predictability of Industrial Design or machine production, and how the two could perhaps be combined to produce variety within mass produced goods.

*Looking at the how the limited supply + inconsistencies of discarded materials could also contribute to providing variety within mass produced goods.

*Looking at both local and global production, in terms of discerning which method might be more appropriate for certain types of goods, based on price point, volume, etc.
