Background
Often large pieces of leather are thrown out due to imperfections such as scratches and wound marks from the lives of the animals. For Stitched Remnants, I used scrap pieces of leather sourced in Portland, OR to create a collection of one of a kind handbags. The surface imperfections on each piece of leather were used as guidelines for unique embroidery patterns.
